Linfield Theatre’s April production will be a new take on Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid, adapted by Oded Gross and Tracy Young, with original music by Paul James Prendergast and original lyrics by Oded Gross, Paul James Prendergast & Tracy Young. Moliere’s final play follows the story of Argan, a hypochondriac who seeks to marry his daughter to the son of a doctor, which he believes will mean cheaper medical bills and easier access to prescriptions. Mistaken identity, subterfuge, and other classic tropes of comedy ensue, and this zippy production contains side–splitting wordplay, slapstick gags, and a healthy dose of pop culture references.
Performance dates are April 18–20 and April 25–26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. Tickets will go on sale April 3. (Please note there will not be a performance on April 27.)
Tickets are $12 for full price; $10 for seniors (62+) and Linfield faculty and staff (two tickets per ID); and $8 for students 16+ (any school, one ticket per ID).
